The Board of Trustees submitted seven bills to the 2008 Legislative Session. Those bills passed both houses and have been signed by the Governor. Those bills are as follows:
An Act to authorize the South Dakota Retirement System Board of Trustees to establish an automatic enrollment feature within the South Dakota deferred compensation plan.
An Act to revise certain provisions pertaining to the South Dakota Retirement System, the South Dakota deferred compensation plan and the South Dakota special pay retirement program.
An Act to bring the South Dakota Retirement System's annual benefit improvement for certain firefighters in line with the improvement for other members.
